SOURCES — mdd-serotonin (Track 2, academic)
All raster imagery is openly licensed: CC0 or CC-BY only. No CC BY-SA, no non-open figures.
PDB atomic coordinates are public domain (RCSB Protein Data Bank) and were rendered
for these graphics with a self-written matplotlib C-alpha trace renderer
(infographics-build/render_pdb.py). No micrograph was fabricated.

Rejected
- None; all candidate images used were license-compatible. Generic mouse microglia are used rather than a depression-model-specific preparation — captioned exactly as what the image shows.
Imagery gaps
- No openly licensed human-brain microglia-activation image specific to depression was found; the cellular panel uses real mouse-brain microglia immunofluorescence, captioned as such.
