# Adversarial review log — chromatin-dysregulation-cancer

**Authoring model:** Sol 6.1. **Adversarial reviewer:** Claude Opus 5.5 (Anthropic). **Date:** 2026-10-14.
**Round:** 2 (2026-10-14). **Canonical path:** `consensus_consistency_audit_2026-10-09/revised/chromatin-dysregulation-cancer/chromatin-dysregulation-cancer.review.md`.

## Summary

| Level before | Level after | Confidence before | Confidence after | Momentum before | Momentum after | Critical | Major | Minor | Editorial | Approval |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Γ — Mechanistically plausible, partial system support | Γ (unchanged) | Moderate | Moderate (re-derived; band stands) | Decisive work underway | **Mechanistic only** | 0 | 3 | 3 | 1 | Approved as revised |

PMIDs checked 60/60, all resolved to the stated first author, title, journal and DOI. Six recorded corrections and one
Editorial Expression of Concern verified against PubMed; one further claimed correction found not to exist.
Load-bearing claims spot-checked: 11. Validator (`validate_review.py` v2.3, HSEF v5.3 tree): **pass** — 0 FAIL,
1 WARN (`v5.claim_form` "phenomenon", rejected per standing convention), 30 PASS.

## Findings

| ID | Severity | Location | Original → corrected | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CD-1 | Major | AT A GLANCE table; `extended_scoring_MSD.momentum`; Final score M/S/D | "Decisive work underway" → "Mechanistic only"; artifact rewritten to name the completed studies | The artifact named no work at all and explicitly disclaimed a recruiting trial. The framework requires a named work, programme or trial type; lead policy states a completed publication or trial can never satisfy this value. Every artifact behind it is a published study. Momentum modifies no letter. |
| CD-2 | Major | AT A GLANCE (new **Confidence basis** paragraph); `final_score.confidence_rationale` ×3 | "…and **incomplete access** set the confidence" → grounded in evidence density and reproducibility, access depth excluded | Lead policy; `hsef-framework.md` § Confidence band. Two-step test: access depth was not the only basis — one fly programme, a 6/22 vs 0/18 engineered cohort on mixed background, a shared OSKM programme, an immortalised bronchial line, bulk-assay detection bounds, and a source under an Expression of Concern are valid determinants — so **Moderate stands**. |
| CD-3 | Major | Consensus provenance reconciliation block | "The earlier adversarial approval refers to its original edition" → "No earlier adversarial approval exists for any edition of this review" | No edition carries an approval section or line; the 2026-10-06 pass covered 30 other slugs. |
| CD-4 | Minor | 47 sites across the evidence narrative, perturbation inventory, falsification list, timeline, reviewer notes and evidence cards | Glued numerals/letters separated (32 distinct patterns; see the in-document findings table for the list) | Known renderer defect 4. The worst instances ran PMIDs into surrounding words at the point where the Expression of Concern is disclosed ("report26552009", "Concern42760338"). Gene and allele names containing digits were left untouched. |
| CD-5 | Minor | Evidence card [9] status line (Wilson 2010) | "ErratumIn: PMIDnot supplied." → explicit correction-screen token with `status_checked_on` | Renderer placeholder plus an unverifiable assertion: PubMed holds no correction record for PMID 20951942. |
| CD-6 | Minor | REFERENCES entry 8 (Pantoja 2005) | "DOI: ." → "DOI: none assigned (no DOI in the PubMed record)." | Known empty-DOI defect; PubMed holds no DOI for PMID 15665276. |
| CD-E1 | Editorial | PROPOSED DECISIVE EXPERIMENTS | Four doubled full stops reduced to one | Rendering. |

## Verified corrections

|---|---|---|---|
| 26552009 (EZH2 / SWI-SNF) | 42760338 | Editorial Expression of Concern, Nat Med 2026-09-18 | Confirmed; review's Weak weighting with no threshold credit upheld |
| 31015438 (BRD9 rhabdoid) | 31558726 | Author Correction | Confirmed |
| 32024998 (LINE-1) | 36944736 | Author Correction | Confirmed |

## Rejected findings (checked, no change)

1. **"Best-supported rival" renderer defect.** Rank 1 (epigenetic co-driver, M3) is `is_nominal: false`; the nominal M1
   ranks 5. Defect absent.
2. **Six print-vs-e-pub year differences of one.** Standing convention.
3. **Two title mismatches from PubMed field loss** (Kras^G12D → "Krasinduces"; DNMT3A^R882 → "DNMT3A"). The review's
   text is correct. Standing convention.
4. **Bare-numeral citation form in prose.** Systematic house convention applied consistently; not a dropped
   intra-word space.
5. **`v5.claim_form` "phenomenon" warning.** Standing convention.
6. **REVIEWER NOTES vs spliced Consensus section.** No contradiction.
7. **Collective authors.** See the collective-author screen below: reference 58 is a genuine consortium record and
is rendered with its full consortium name, not truncated.
8. **Scope-matched aggregation.** Checked closely — this was the likeliest place in the group for the warned-about
   misread, with SC2 at Ε on a Drosophila scope and SC3 at Δ on a fly-PRC1 scope against a mammalian/human central
claim. The review takes the letter from SC4, the only scope-matching subclaim, and reports the narrower fly
   results separately. Correct as written.
9. **Stability "Stable".** Correct by definition where no trigger is named.

## Residual limitations

Access depth unchanged: 8 partial-body and 52 abstract/status examinations, no complete-paper or supplement audit.
The Expression of Concern body and the six confirmed corrections remain unexamined in substance, so the Weak
weighting of [30] rests on the existence of the notice rather than its content. Partial-body figures for Parreno,
Cui, Yu, Gong and PCAWG section 6 could not be re-verified beyond abstracts and are not contradicted.

## Changed files

`SHA256.txt` regenerated; `validation-report.json` re-run. Pre-edit copies in `sol61-original/`.

## For the lead — exact strings to propagate to package-level files

Momentum changed, so any package-level artifact that carries the M/S/D row for this slug must be updated:

- `Decisive work underway` → `Mechanistic only` (chromatin-dysregulation-cancer row only).

## Collective-author screen (both known forms)

Screened for a dropped author leaving a stray leading comma, for a consortium name truncated to its last word so
that it reads as an ordinary surname ("Group et al.", "Network et al.", "Consortium et al."), and for dropped
nobiliary particles. Method: every reference's rendered first author compared against the PubMed record,
including records whose first author object comes back empty because the article is credited to a consortium.
Result: one genuine collective record — reference 58, PMID 32025007, whose PubMed first-author object is empty because the paper is credited to a consortium. The review renders it as **"ICGC/TCGA Pan-Cancer Analysis of Whole Genomes Consortium"**, the full name, with no truncation to "Consortium et al." and no stray comma. This is the defect's natural habitat and the builder handled it correctly here. Particles intact ("López-Moyado", "Rodriguez-Martin"). No defect.

## Line-ending note

The edit pass initially normalised these files from CRLF to LF. That was unintended and has been reversed: the
review and score card are back on CRLF, matching their pre-edit state and the rest of the package, and the hashes
below are the final CRLF files.

**Approval:** Following adversarial review and the corrections listed above, the revised document is approved. — Claude Opus 5.5 (Anthropic), 2026-10-14.
