# Consensus checked against original sources: Glymphatic Clearance Hypothesis

Cutoff9October2026. Consensus supports discovery and checks of specific source aspects; it is not a primary study, a full-paper audit or a causal probability meter.

## Contrary sleep experiment omitted from the provider search
Consensus did not retrieve Miao's original study. Its examined original Results show lower small-dye net clearance during sleep or anesthesia with unchanged diffusion coefficients. This is contrary evidence for a uniform sleep-clearance prediction, with male-mouse, solute-size and preparation limits. The publisher correction repairs one source-data column; amended raw data have not been reanalyzed. [Original PMID38741022](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38741022/). Access: full_text_partial.

## Original experiment versus a similarly titled review
Consensus selected a 2025 review rather than the original Cell experiment. The original body separates an efflux assay from influx, finds associations with noradrenergic microarchitecture rather than total NREM duration, and reports zolpidem-reduced tracer influx. It does not establish that zolpidem causes human dementia. [Original PMID39788123](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39788123/). Access: full_text_partial.

## Human device modeling versus observed endogenous clearance
The original 2026 body reports no significant overall between-condition difference in overnight plasma biomarker changes, despite modeled physiological associations. Its abstract and measured-biomarker Results use different participant counts. An impedance/compartment estimate is not direct observation of net parenchymal export or a dementia-prevention outcome. [Original PMID41593094](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/41593094/). Access: full_text_partial.

## Production and clearance must be separated
Original human isotope kinetics attributes a deprivation-related amyloid increase to increased production, while fractional turnover and delay comparisons are nonsignificant. A concentration rise alone cannot validate reduced glymphatic clearance. [Original PMID29220873](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29220873/). Access: full_text_partial.

## Diffusion and AQP4-independent transport challenge uniform convection
The examined original report supports diffusion-based parenchymal movement and AQP4-independent transport in its preparation. It supplies an actual mechanistic contrast; differences in tracer delivery and compartments must be reconciled rather than dismissing one preparation. [Original PMID28826498](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28826498/). Access: abstract_metadata.

## Methods
Consensus was used to identify literature and cross-check specific claims about design, endpoints, scope and research gaps. Those aspects were checked against original primary abstracts/status records and selected original Methods/Results passages. Consensus output was not treated as original full text. Provider search omissions are not evidence that a study does not exist. Source access and examination receipts are retained. Scite use or monthly unavailability is recorded per case; provider citation counts do not change causal grades.
