# Adversarial review log - hpv-cervical-carcinoma (9 October 2026 revised edition)

Authoring model: **Sol 6.1**. Adversarial reviewer: **Claude Opus 5.5 (Anthropic)**. Date: **2026-10-14**.
Round 2 of the Sol 6.1 HSEF adversarial pass.

| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| HSEF level before -> after | Theta (High predictive accuracy, minimal unresolved exceptions) -> Theta (unchanged) |
| Confidence before -> after | High -> High (unchanged) |
| Causal role | primary driver (unchanged) |
| Findings | Critical 0 - Major 0 - Minor 1 - Editorial 0 |
| PMIDs verified | 26/26; 0 failures; no retraction or concern flag on any record |
| Claims spot-checked | 24 load-bearing figures against original abstracts; all reproduced exactly |
| Validator | **PASS** - 0 fail, 0 warn, 33 pass |

## Findings

| ID | Severity | Location | Correction |
|---|---|---|---|
| AR-1 | Minor | REFERENCES 6, 7, 15 and the matching score-card ledger rows | Collective-author defect repaired: "Group et al." -> "FUTURE II Study Group"; "Network et al." -> "Cancer Genome Atlas Research Network"; "Sanjose et al." -> "de Sanjose et al." |

Nothing else changed. Level, confidence, role, momentum, stability, divergence, subclaim levels, source count and claim count are all unchanged.

## Rejected findings

The "earlier adversarial approval" clause in the 9 October splice was checked first, because it is false in other
cases in this audit. **Here it is true** and was left alone: the original edition carries an adversarial-review
banner and approval section dated 2026-10-06 at
`deliverables/prepublication-enrichment-2026-10-05/website-series/hpv-cervical-carcinoma/review-addendum.md`.
Also rejected: Theta versus Omega (the Omega descriptor requires necessity **and** sufficiency, and sufficiency is
biologically false - the review's "structural block, not a sample-size block" reasoning is right); Theta versus
Eta; the circularity-safe restatement (a legitimate scope restriction under the v5.3 rule, because site and
morphology are fixed before the HPV result rather than after the outcome); all three aggregation values;
the eight-line independence audit, which applies the shared-failure test against itself and merges FUTURE II with
PATRICIA, the two England papers, the three cell studies and the two IECC papers; the "Best model" field naming
the nominal, which is **not** the renderer defect seen elsewhere this round because the field is labelled "Best
model" and the nominal's rank is stated in the adjacent row; Momentum "Mechanistic only", conservatively assigned
against a real active trial; Confidence High, whose rationale never leaned on access depth; and the two
full-text-only figures (Chen 12.4%/0.14%, TCGA 169/178 and 7/9), which the review already discloses and flags,
and which are consistent with rather than contradicted by the abstracts.

## Note for the lead

This is the one case in my group where the spliced "earlier adversarial approval" sentence is **accurate**, and it
is a useful control on the sweep: the clause should be rescoped only where the approval genuinely does not exist.
The collective-author defect appears here in a second form worth adding to the sweep pattern - not a leading comma
but a truncation to the final word of the consortium name ("Group et al.", "Network et al."), which reads like an
ordinary surname and will not be caught by a leading-comma grep.

## Files changed

- `hpv-cervical-carcinoma.review.md` (banner, ADVERSARIAL REVIEW AND APPROVAL section, AR-1)
- `hpv-cervical-carcinoma.scorecard.json` (AR-1, citation-ledger rows)
- `validator.txt` (new)
- `sol61-original/` holds the pre-review copies.

**Approval:** Following adversarial review and the correction listed above, the revised document is approved. - Claude Opus 5.5 (Anthropic), 2026-10-14.
