# Adversarial review — current-source-checkpoint (ROUND 2)

Authoring model: **Sol 6.1**. Adversarial reviewer: **Claude Opus 5.5 (Anthropic)**. Date: **2026-10-14**.
Canonical file reviewed: `hsef_v53_final_nine_2026-10-12/super-enhancer-cell-identity/current-source-checkpoint.review.md`.

> Filename note: this log is deliberately suffixed with the slug, because the same case folder also holds
> `super-enhancer-cell-identity.review.md`, which belongs to a different review assignment (group 17) and
> will write its own `ADVERSARIAL_REVIEW.md` here.

## Misfiling (reported, not fixed)

`current-source-checkpoint.review.md` is a build-tool working filename, not a subject. Its content is a
review of the **Super-enhancer Model of Cell Identity**, selected at remaining-priority position 16 of the
2026-10-09 editorial list. It sits in case folders named for other slugs:

- `hsef_v53_final_nine_2026-10-12/super-enhancer-cell-identity/` (canonical for this assignment)
- `hsef_v53_remaining_priority_16_19_2026-10-12/super-enhancer-cell-identity/` (byte-identical copy)

The two files the inventory lists as `divergent_copies` are **not** divergent copies of this review at all —
they are a *different hypothesis*:

- `hsef_v53_final_nine_2026-10-12/enhancer-promoter-looping/current-source-checkpoint.review.md`
- `hsef_v53_remaining_priority_11_15_2026-10-11/enhancer-promoter-looping/current-source-checkpoint.review.md`

Both are checkpoints of the **Enhancer–Promoter Looping as Causal** review (57 primary reports), which is
group 14's assignment. The inventory grouped them only because they share the generic filename. Neither was
touched. Recommendation to the lead: have the builder emit `<slug>.checkpoint.review.md` instead of a fixed
name, and treat `current-source-checkpoint` as an artifact class rather than a review slug in the inventory.

## Summary

| Item | Result |
|---|---|
| Level before → after | Β → Β (no change) |
| Confidence before → after | Moderate → Moderate (no change) |
| Causal role | reinforcing / stabilizing factor (unchanged) |
| Findings | Critical 0 · Major 1 · Minor 2 (7 string occurrences) · Editorial 0 · Flagged-not-fixed 1 |
| REFERENCE PMIDs verified | 66/66 resolve; 0 failures; 0 retraction/EoC flags |
| Load-bearing claims spot-checked | 10 (one confirmed verbatim against a stored body receipt) |
| Collective-author builder bug | not present |
| Validator | no score card accompanies this file; indicative run against the sibling score card with the bundled v2.3 validator = PASS, 0 fail / 0 warn / 31 pass (`validator-current-source-checkpoint.txt`) |

## Findings

| ID | Severity | Location | Original → corrected |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Major | Decisive-perturbation inventory, paragraph after the tally | dopamine/antipsychotic boilerplate replaced with the domain-correct sentence about native-locus perturbations and activity-matched comparators |
| 2 | Minor | Evidence and causal interpretation, rubric-fit line | "Rubric03 applies" → "Rubric 03 applies" |
| 3 | Minor | Final score / M-S-D, role-derivation paragraph | "(step1)" … "(step5)" → "(step 1)" … "(step 5)" |

Finding 1 is a template bleed from a dopamine/schizophrenia case: the sentence named a neurotransmitter and
a drug class that appear nowhere else in this review and have no bearing on its claim. It is the only
substantive error found.

## Flagged, not corrected

**Causal-tally count.** The tally states "10 screened discriminating contrast units" while the inventory
prints eight bracketed items ([4], [5], [6], [8], [9], [10], [36], [61]). The same 10 appears in
`super-enhancer-cell-identity.scorecard.json` (`causal_tally_audit.screened_discriminating_contrasts`) and
in the finalised `super-enhancer-cell-identity.review.md`, both of which belong to group 17. Either two
inventory entries were dropped in rendering or the count is wrong; the evidence does not decide which, so no
number was changed. Needs reconciling across this file, the finalised review and its score card.

## Rejected findings (checked, no change)

1. Scope-matched sensitivity reported as Β: argued both ways and left as published, because the registered
claim is conjunctive (distinct class **and** disproportionate control) and no single subclaim's scope
covers the conjunction, so its scope-matched value is the weaker conjunct. The headline is set by the
   pre-registered weakest-link rule regardless.
2. Weakest-link arithmetic min(Β, Β, Γ) = Β is correct.
3. The identical Scope column for SC1–SC3 carries a pre-outcome scope *qualifier*, not the subclaim scope.
4. Momentum "Mechanistic only" carries its artifact.
5. The "twelve selected body reports" figure is right — twelve receipts exist and the final correction log
says twelve; an intermediate build script's "ten" was itself superseded.
6. The review's refusal to reuse PMID 40592831's reversed EDL/soleus descriptors is correct handling of a
   source defect.
7. Reference titles at #15 and #24 differ from PubMed only by PubMed dropping italicised gene and marker
   names.

## Approval

**Approval:** Following adversarial review and the corrections listed above, the revised document is approved. — Claude Opus 5.5 (Anthropic), 2026-10-14.
